Tim and Kelsey met in 2007 in Austin, Texas. They decided to add to their family a year after they got married, but after 12 months of trying were unable to get pregnant. They went to see a specialist and found out that Kelsey had a health disorder called Poly-cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).Kelsey took medication for year without any success and then underwent surgery to have cysts removed from her fallopian tubes.
Months went by and still they were unsuccessful. They committed to giving two more swings at getting pregnant. First, they would try an IUI with injections, and if that didn’t work, they would try the IVF. Kelsey began injections and went through the IUI. On Christmas day, after 4 years of effort, Tim and Kelsey found out they were going to be parents.
Tim and Kelsey knew that they were fortunate to have insurance that covered the expensive procedures, but their journey and the people they met along the way, made it clear that others were not as fortunate and were having to carry the heavy financial burden alone. Following the birth of their son, Maverick, Kelsey decided that she wanted to help and together they created Maverick’s Miracle Babies Foundation.
